We had a lazy day today. Carson woke up not feeling so well. We tried to get out after breakfast, taking a walk down the lovely coastal walking/biking path right outside our door into the main part of Kapa'a. We didn't walk for long because Carson complained of feeling sick to her stomach. We don't mess with that.
After lunch, we talked Carson into the car for a drive up into Hanalei of Puff-the-Magic Dragon fame. It is a beautiful drive and only around 20 minutes from where we are staying. We took a walk out to Hanalei Bay. We didn't want to push Carson, so we didn't stay. But we hope to get back there tomorrow or the next day. It is a really pretty drive - lots of trees and a waterfall or two along the way.
An interesting thing on Kauai - the one lane bridge. As the name suggests, only one car can go across at the time. When you come to one of these, you stop and check the other side. The general etiquette is to yield to oncoming traffic, which should stop and yield to you after five or six cars. I don't think this would ever work in Dallas, but it seems to work here. There are 6 of them around Hanalei.
Carson still isn't feeling well tonight, but the harder part has been Keith, who came down with a terrible migraine on our way home. All in all, it has been a tough day. Tomorrow will be better.
